Base on a 1940 style badge I found, it was made in silks but I,ve used wool.To make your self one of these first find a metal curtin ring. wrap the wool around the edges and up and down for the flower stems the flowers are made by doing little french knots. sew a badge pin on the back.. I love these brooches- I have some originals in silk, and also some American post-wartime ones made from plastic telephone wire.

ReplyDeleteI love these types of brooches. I was lucky enough to find a 40s one at an event - but have always rather fancied making them in my own colours. I shall check out that blog. The ones you have made are beauts!
